Ah, ice cream. The perfect treat to cool you off on a hot day or just to cheer you up when you’re not feeling the best. Whatever the occasion is, ice cream makes everything better. Toronto has a ton of ice cream shops in the city but this one new shop that just opened only serves soft serve.
Located in Kensington Market, Super Serve is the latest venture from the team behind the mezcal bar El Ray. It’s conveniently located right beside the Mexican restaurant so if you’re feeling a sweet treat after some mezcal and ceviche you can just head next door to satisfy your craving.
The menu consists of some of your favourite flavours like chocolate and vanilla but also has a monthly feauture with two new flavours of soft serve. A few of the month’s features include pineapple, horchata, mocha, and coconut. There are also two vegan flavours that rotate monthly for those with dietary restrictions so no one feels left out.
Also on the menu are their concoctions known as “super serves” where you can get their soft serve with multiple toppings including cornflakes, pretzels, toasted coconut, salted caramel sauce, cookie crumbs, strawberries, peanuts, pineapple compote, chocolate fudge, and strawberry syrup.
You can get your soft serve in either a cup or cake cone but for an extra charge can also upgrade to a waffle cone.
The ice cream shop is fairly small, mainly for take out but also has a small seating area that you could sit in if the shop isn’t too busy. Super Serve has a retro feel to it with the blue and beige checked floor tiles and plants all around the shop.
Although there are a ton of ice cream shops in the city, Super Serve is the first joint to be serving exclusively soft serve.
