There is nothing better than a hot fresh waffle. You might be thinking, that waffles are only for breakfast but you’re wrong. They’re the perfect dessert to have any time of day, although they are the superior breakfast food (sorry pancakes and French toast). Toronto has a ton of breakfast and dessert places selling waffles but this one spot is selling x-rated waffles.
Members Only Waffle House started as a dessert pop-up stand in the summer of 2021 but now sits at its permanent location in the Queen West neighbourhood.
Owner Kirsty Fan got inspired when she saw a similar dessert shop in Madrid and that’s when she decided to bring the concept to Toronto.
The idea of eating one of their Member waffles had people entertained and fascinated, with tons of people lining down the block to get one of the waffles. People have even travelled to Toronto to get their hands on the famous member.
Waffle batter is made in-house daily, with waffles constantly being pressed in their custom-shaped waffle irons.
You get to decide how you want to dress your Member as there are five different Belgian chocolate sauces for you to choose from. You can dip your member in white, semi-sweet, milk, ruby, or caramel chocolate and then top it off with as many sprinkles as you like. Their sprinkles are actually a custom blend for their store.
Members Only Waffle House has gotten so popular, that they introduced a new body part in the summer of 2022. The Majesty is dressed a bit differently than the Member but is made from the same waffle batter so it has the same great taste.
Instead of being dipped, the Majesty is served with a side of their house-made ice cream and is drizzled with your choice of the five chocolate sauces, and gets topped off with sprinkles.
What makes Members Only Waffle House unique is the whole in-store experience the staff gives their customers. As soon as you walk in, the staff excitedly greet you with some raunchy jokes along the way as they walk you through step by step on creating your Member or Majesty.
Just outside the shop, there’s a mural painted and the perfect place to take photos with you Member or Majesty as there’s a neon sign with the words “I licked it so it’s mine” as well as the colourful sidewalk.
