Turning an April Fools’ Joke into 4.25 Million Views
A playful April Fools’ campaign that transformed Shan’s iconic spice blends into soda flavours, generating millions of views, sparking widespread conversation, and driving global engagement.
The Mission
Shan Foods Global was preparing to launch its new House Specials product line and wanted to increase brand awareness across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. With countless brands competing for attention around April Fools’ Day, the challenge was to create a campaign that audiences would genuinely engage with rather than scroll past.

The Idea Behind the Idea
Shan’s community already loves imagining creative ways to use its spice blends. We realized that if the concept felt just believable enough, people would naturally debate whether it was real. That curiosity could become the campaign’s biggest driver of engagement.
The Execution
We created Masala Cola, a fictional line of soft drinks inspired by four of Shan’s most iconic spice blends.
To sell the illusion, we produced realistic product mockups using custom-printed labels wrapped around actual soda cans, paired with graphics, short-form video, and influencer collaborations that blurred the line between fiction and reality.
