How do you make boxed mac and cheese?

Boxed mac and cheese or as we Canadians like to call it, Kraft Dinner. People love it or hate it. It’s a staple in so many people’s pantries as a snack or even as a meal but the real question is, do you add anything in it to spice up your meal? I asked my coworkers how they liked to make their boxed mac and cheese and here’s what they said.

Our intern Chris said he’s a simple man who loves the original Kraft Dinner and doesn’t put anything in it usually. If he’s feeling spicy he might add some chilly flakes to it but he does like to drizzle ketchup on top of his bowl before eating it. Are we a ketchup or no ketchup on KD kinda people?

Account manager Naomi is also a simple gal who doesn’t add anything extra to her KD but she also tends to make her own mac and cheese from scratch and rarely eats it from the box.

Account manager Melissa likes to use the Kraft spirals and add frozen peas to it. Adding some greens to the mix to give it some colour. She then tops it off with some siracha (RIP) to give it a bit of a kick.

Account manager Sam on the other hand is truly changing her plain old mac and cheese. Firstly she opts for Annie’s white cheddar and adds peas, broccoli, Parmesan cheese and cream cheese. Sometimes she adds the herb and garlic cream cheese if she has it. She then tops it off with a ton of cracked pepper and her dish is complete.

How I make my boxed mac and cheese is I also like to opt for Annie’s white cheddar like Sam does. I then add frozen peas to be a bit healthy but then I cancel out being healthy by adding bacon to the mix.

It was very interesting to hear how everyone made their boxed mac and cheese. Let us know if you try any of our recipes or if you have your own way of spicing up KD!
