This Toronto restaurant serves sushi on a conveyor belt

Sushi. People either love or hate eating raw fish. Luckily for sushi lovers, Toronto has a ton of Japanese restaurants where you can either eat as much as you want or try some of the best cuts of fish. While one of the best parts of all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants is that you don’t have to interact with servers to order, this one Toronto sushi restaurant is upping that level.

Located in North York at Yorkdale Mall sits TORA, a sushi restaurant concept by Aburi Restaurants that is also behind Miku.

Just like a lot of sushi spots, this restaurant has its menu on an iPad for easy ordering but also has a high-tech laneway conveyor belt that will bring exactly what you ordered straight to your table without any human interaction at all.

You can order four items at a time and they will come speeding out on the laneway for you to pick up.

The restaurant is organized around the laneways, with booths lining them but there is also a lounge area where you can be served by staff if that’s what you prefer.

TORA is also known for specializing in aburi oshi, which is pressed torched sushi, and also their nigiri.

All of the restaurant’s aburi is torched using Japanese bamboo charcoal known as binchotan.

Each nigiri pairs perfectly with their house-made signature sauces that is intended to perfectly pair each piece of sushi.

The menu not only consists of some high-grade sushi but also specialty rolls, cold dishes like beef tataki, tuna crudo, and seaweed salad. As well as some hot dishes like miso soup, chicken wings, and crispy brussels sprouts.

There’s also a dessert menu so if you’re craving a sweet treat you can satisfy your sweet tooth with mochi ice cream, or cake. black sesame cheesecake or even a Melona ice cream bar.

It’s good to note that TORA actually doesn’t take reservations as they only do walk-ins but you can check Yelp to see how long wait times are.
