We tried one of Toronto’s iconic sandwich shops

Where is your go-to shop when you want a sandwich? Subway? Mr. Sub? Your local deli or bakery? Well, I think you should head over to Lambo’s Deli, an iconic deli and grocery shop serving up some of the best subs in the city.

The popular sandwich shop is situated in the trendy neighbourhood of Trinity-Bellwoods, with a ton of their customers grabbing their sandwiches and heading to the park to eat.

I have never tried Lambo’s before but have always seen the line up down the block or people eating it at Trinity Bellwoods Park so when my boyfriend said he was craving a sandwich I came up with the genius idea to head over to the popular sub shop.

Luckily they have online ordering so I was able to preorder and pick them up as soon as I walked over instead of waiting in the line that went down the block. We grabbed our subs and made our silly little way over to the park.

My boyfriend ordered the popular Italian Trio, which consisted of soppressata, mortadella, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, pickled red onion, arugula, pesto, and Calabrian chili spread. I ordered the Classic Combo which had Genoa salami, smoked ham, coppa, provolone, tomato, mayo, red onion, iceberg lettuce, and giardiniera. If you don’t know what giardiniera is, it’s just pickled veggies! Don’t worry I had to look it up too lol.

Now here comes the taste test. I’m not really a sandwich kinda gal but these were some of the best subs I’ve ever had. I’m really giving in to the hype! I understand why the Italian Trio is the most popular item on the menu because all the ingredients work so well together it was just chef’s kiss! My boyfriend inhaled it but luckily I stopped him so I can get a bite of it. The Classic Combo was also good and I loved the pickled veggies in it! I’m definitely adding those the next time I make a sandwich at home.

I know sometimes some Toronto spots are overhyped but I promise you this is one that doesn’t disappoint! Next time you’re in the Trinity-Bellwoods area make sure to grab a sub at Lambo’s and to head to the park to eat it! You’ll fit right in with the neighbourhood plus will die over the sub!
